Blood on the Road: Free Adventure Kit

This is a free adventure kit for my system, Relict RPG, as well as Pathfinder 2e and D&D 5e.

Blood on the Road includes:

• Ambush on the Old Road: A full encounter for your players.
• Free Map
• Creature lists for Relict, Pathfinder 2e, and D&D 5e
• Scene-setting and role-playing notes for the GM
• Quest hooks to continue the story forward

Where did Blood on the Road come from?

As 2023 came to a close, I asked the TTRPG community across all my social platforms what you wanted from the Houndsong Patreon. The results were conclusive: encounters, quests, and tools to help run the best games you can, regardless of system. Loud and clear!

Going Forward, I'll be releasing a new packet like this every month with a different theme.

• My Patrons get first crack at the new content, plus exclusives bonuses from time to time.
• Previous adventure kits will be released a la carte on Ko-fi, Itch, and other platforms for those who prefer one-time purchases.
• I'll begin polling across socials to determine upcoming themes. 
• The proceeds from these kits go toward the continued development of Relict--which, as a reminder, is a free, open-source system anyone can use!

Here's what to expect each month:

Monthly Theme.

Each month there will be a thematic through-line that connects all the content. For January, I've selected Blood on the Road: a collection of common dangers, setbacks, and surprises that can befall an adventuring party as they explore their world. Going forward, I'll be polling here and across various platforms to select future themes, so watch for that!

Foe Focus

This was a request from my polling that really excited me: can I create tactics and guides to run different monsters in more exciting, engaging ways? You bet! Foe Focus is a monthly spotlight on a monster group related to the month's theme that includes suggested objectives, drives, tactics, and variations to bring your baddies to life--in or out of combat.

Thematic Encounter

Each month you'll see an encounter and map related to the theme. This includes creature lists for Relict, Pathfinder 2e, and 5e, a GM's guide, twists and surprises, relevant NPCs, and plot hooks for when the dust settles.

Dice Tables

Looking to build your GM library? I'll be releasing a set of random dice tables each month related to the themes and encounters at hand. My goal here is to amass a collection of randomizers to fit a wide variety of situations for when you need that little bit of chaos to stir up a session.
