Tangled Blessings: Knotted Tomes

This short supplement was created for the Tangled Blessings Game Jam, but could be used in any situation in which you need to randomly generate some spooky books. We've all been there, right?

Knotted Tomes adds an additional journal prompt for Year 1: 

"After returning from a study session in the library, you discover an extra book in your possession. You don't recall seeing the book in the library; in fact, you have no memory of it whatsoever before that moment.  Did you read the tome? Did you tell anyone? Did you attempt to return the book, hide it, or learn more about it? What happened?"

Consult the tables below to learn more about the mysterious book. You can roll randomly on each table, substitute your own detail, or select an option that inspires you. You do not need to use every table.

4. Bound in coarse, tanned leather. The letters are burned in. 
5. A leathery material you can't identify. It looks hand stitched, the title applied by brushstrokes. 
6. Torn off.

(1d6) When you hold the book...

1. You have an overwhelming sense of being watched.
2. You periodically hear unintelligible whispers, as if from the next room. 
3. A foul stench stings your nostrils. No one else notices.
4. Pins and needles dance across your palms. The feeling lasts for several hours.
5. You can hear your classmates' voices in your head, but only while they are asleep.
6. You see doors and windows where none exist.

(1d6) After reading the book...

1. You begin to see a new ghost around Brackroot. No one else knows of it.
2. You feel as if you are never alone in a room.
3. You have the overwhelming urge to give the book to someone else.
4. You remember its contents with crystal clarity, but find yourself unable to describe anything you read within. 
5. You no longer feel the need to sleep, and eat only rarely. 
6. You find yourself reminiscing often of your childhood—but soon realize your memories of that time have been replaced by someone else's.
